Hoggroth

The worshippers of Hoggroth the Flesh Consumer, form a malevolent and secretive cult mainly composed of small fiendish creatures known as imps. The cult typically operates in secluded, squalid shrines deep within dense forests or underground lairs. The focal point of these shrines is usually an unsettling, grotesque statue of Hoggroth, depicted as a monstrous pig.

Hoggroth's followers believe that consuming the flesh of sentient beings, particularly humans, grants them strength and favor with their insatiable deity. The high priests of the cult are known as Swineherds, and they orchestrate dark rituals that involve hunting for victims, sacrificing them in brutal ceremonies, and offering their flesh to Hoggroth.

The rituals often involve grotesque feasting, where the fiends partake in consuming the offerings, believing they are sharing in their god's voracious appetite. The remains are then placed in an altar shaped like a giant trough before the statue of Hoggroth.

Despite the depravity of their worship, the followers of Hoggroth are surprisingly organized and can sometimes manipulate or coerce other creatures into serving them. They are fanatical in their devotion and will go to great lengths to feed their ever-hungry god.
