This relatively simple armor consists of heavy chains that wrap around your body and limbs. While it weighs more and provides less protection than other medium armors, it is also less of a hindrance. In addition, if you are wielding a spiked chain, you can affix it to one hand. This functions as a locked gauntlet, and if you are proficient with spiked chains, you can treat the spiked chain as a one-handed weapon while it is attached. You can affix a spiked chain to each hand this way, but you can’t wear locked gauntlets while wearing a chain coat, and you can’t attach any weapon to a chain coat except spiked chains.

A gambeson, serves as a padded defensive jacket that can be utilized as standalone armor or in conjunction with other armors. Crafted using a quilting sewing technique, its typical construction materials include linen or wool, while its stuffing, providing crucial protective cushioning, could be composed of various materials, such as scrap cloth or horse hair, offering both versatility and vital defense in combat scenarios.
A Gambeson grants the wearer DR 3/- vs bludgeoning damage. When a Gambeson is enchanted to increased the AC this DR also increases by the enchantment bonus.
Although a Gambeson can be worn as armor itself, it is most often worn under heavier armors. When worn under other armors the AC bonus does not stack but the protection from bludgeoning damage is still effective.

This luxurious coat is crafted from samite, a rich, heavy silk that includes threads of silver and gold, giving it a shimmering, lustrous appearance. Favored by nobility, the samite used in this armor is both stunning and functional. The coat is tailored to offer protection without sacrificing comfort or mobility, featuring a lining that subtly incorporates thin strips of mithral. These mithral strips are woven into the fabric in such a way that they are almost imperceptible, enhancing the coat's defensive capabilities without adding significant weight or restricting movement. The mithral strips enhance the fabric's durability and offer a slight resistance to magic.
A Samite Coat grants the wearer DR 3/- vs bludgeoning damage as well as the normal light Armor DR 1/- Piercing & Slashing.
