Some monks seek to become one with another weapon entirely—the gun. The Gun Fu Monk takes a weapon most other monks eschew and seeks perfection in the pull of a hair trigger, the recoil of a firearm, and the flight of an bullet fired true.
This Archetype can only be taken when an existing Master Gun Fu Monk teaches it to a pupil.
Gun Fu Monks are proficient with all one handed firearms in addition to their normal weapon proficiencies.
Starting at 1st level, a Gun Fu Monk can make a flurry of bullets as a full-attack action. They add guns to the list of weapons and unarmed attacks normally allowed as part of a Flurry of Blows. A Gun Fu monk applies his full Strength bonus to his melee damage rolls for all successful attacks made with flurry of bullets, whether the attacks are made with an off-hand or with a weapon wielded in both hands. At level five a Gun Fu Monk applies his full WIS bonus to his damage rolls made with one handed firearms for all successful attacks made with flurry of bullets.
A Gun Fu Monk flurry of bullets otherwise functions as a normal flurry of blows for a monk of their level.
A Gun Fu Monk cannot use Rapid Shot or Manyshot when making a flurry of bullets with a firearm.
This alters the Flurry of Blows Ability.
A Gun Fu Monk's bonus feats must be taken from the following list:
Combat Reflexes, Dodge, Far Shot, Point-Blank Shot, Precise Shot, Quickdraw and Rapid Shot.
At 6th level, the following feats are added to the list:
Focused Shot*, Improved Precise Shot, Manyshot, Mobility, and Parting Shot.
At 10th level, the following feats are added to the list:
Improved Critical, Pinpoint Targeting, and Shot on the Run.
A monk need not have any of the prerequisites normally required for these feats to select them.
These feats replace the monk’s normal bonus feats.
At 1st level, a Gun Fu Monk gains Perfect Strike as a bonus feat, even if they do not meet the prerequisites. A Gun Fu Monk can use Perfect Strike with any one handed firearm. At 10th level, the monk can roll his attack roll three times and take the highest result. If one of these rolls is a critical threat, the monk must choose one of his other two rolls to use as his confirmation roll.
This ability replaces stunning fist.
At 2nd level, a Gun Fu Monk gains Weapon Focus as a bonus feat with one type of one handed firearm.
At 6th level, the Gun Fu Monk gains Weapon Specialization with the same weapon as a bonus feat, even if they do not meet the prerequisites.
This ability replaces evasion.
At 3rd level, a Gun Fu Monk may use their Wisdom modifier instead of their Dexterity modifier on ranged attack rolls when using a one handed firearm.
This ability replaces maneuver training.
At 3rd level, a Gun Fu Monk gains Point Blank Master as a bonus feat, even if he does not meet the prerequisites.
This ability replaces still mind.
At level 4 a Gun Fu Monk gains Grit, and Deeds as a Gunslinger. This ability functions like the Gunslinger Grit and Deeds, except that the Gun Fu Monk's effective Gunslinger level is equal to his Gun Fu Monk level –3.
This ability replaces Ki Pool (Su).
Up Close and Deadly (Ex): At 1st level, when the Gun Fu Monk hits a target with a one-handed firearm that is not making a scatter shot, they can spend 1 grit point to deal 1d6 points of extra damage on a hit. If they miss with the attack, they graze the target, dealing half the extra damage anyway. This is precision damage and is not multiplied if the attack is a critical hit. This precision damage increases to 2d6 at 5th level, to 3d6 at 10th level, to 4d6 at 15th level, and to 5d6 at 20th level.
The cost of using this deed cannot be reduced with the Signature Deed feat, the true grit class feature, or any similar effect. This precision damage stacks with sneak attack and other forms of precision damage.
This deed replaces the Deadeye deed.
Gun Fu Dodge (Ex): At 1st level, the Gun Fu Monk gains an uncanny knack for getting out of the way of attacks. When an attack is made against the Gun Fu Monk, they can spend 1 grit point to tumble 10 feet as an immediate action; doing so grants the gunslinger a +2 Dodge bonus to AC against the triggering attack. This movement does not provoke attacks of opportunity. The Gun Fu Monk can only perform this deed while wearing light armor, and while carrying no more than a light load.
This deed replaces the Gunslinger’s Dodge deed.
Bullet Bending (Ex): At 3th level, a Gun Fu Monk may hit targets that they might otherwise miss. By spending 1 point of grit, the Gun Fu Monk can ignore concealment. By spending 2 points, they can ignore total concealment or cover. By spending 3 points, they can ignore total cover, even firing bullets around corners. The bullet must still be able to reach the target; a target inside a closed building with no open doors or windows cannot be attacked. These effects last for 1 round.
This deed replaces the Gunslinger’s Utility Shot deed.
At 9th level, a Gun Fu Monk can make attacks of opportunity with bullets from their gun. The monk still threatens squares they could reach with unarmed strikes, and can still only make one attack of opportunity per round (unless they has Combat Reflexes).
This ability replaces improved evasion.
